IELTS Preparation Workshop

The goal of our IELTS workshop is to optimise your chances of achieving the band score which you require through practical examples, an interactive classroom environment and an experienced and engaged IELTS professional.

By the end of our workshop you will feel confident in knowing the exam format and be equipped with knowledge on how to tackle each of the four sections of either the General Training or Academic IELTS exam.

Workshop Schedule

The workshop will take approximately 5-hours.

 
  • 7:45 - Meet & Greet

    Start the morning by meeting your fellow attendees, grabbing a hot cuppa Joe and finding your seat; we will then run through the overview of the IELTS exam.

  • 8:00 - Speaking Section

    In this portion of the workshop, we will cover the Speaking section of the IELTS exam and pair up to each have a turn in practising our speaking.

  • 9:00 - Listening Section

    During this next hour, we’ll work through the Listening section together and practice under exam conditions.

  • 10:15 - Break

    Grab some refreshments and hit the bathroom before we resume the class.

  • 11:00 - Reading Section

    Now we will dive into the Reading section; we’ll test the essential skills which are required to pull you through this test.

  • 12:00 - Writing Section

    The final section we shall cover will be the Writing section of the exam; here we will complete exclusive assessments which will unearth any underlying problems.

  • 13:15 - Closing

    We’ll wrap things up with a review of what we covered and exchange contact details, so you’re able to get ahold of us if any questions arise!

  • Please allow extra time for classes to run overtime, especially where there are more queries to be answered.
    We aim to finish each course between 13:00 and 13:30

When is the workshop?

We host our workshops across South Africa in Durban and Johannesburg on Saturday mornings. Please refer to the “Booking Process” section above to see our exact available course dates.

Where is the workshop?

We host IELTS classes in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town: (Please note our workshops are not held at our offices)

How much time is this going to take?

The intensive workshop is around 5-hours long, which includes a 45-minute break where you can grab refreshments and hit the bathroom, and have a chat with the teacher.

What materials do I get?

You will receive a course booklet containing specially selected notes, instructions and past paper examples to take home with you. You may make notes in this booklet.

Can I bring people?

Yes, you may, please complete a booking 24 hours before the course date, for administrative processing.
We can share our morning with any and all IELTS test takers you know.

Will this course improve my English skills?

You may pick up some valuable English pointers in the course material, but we will not focus on improving your English.
